The bipartisan legislation introduced to overhaul Medicare’s troubled payment system includes provisions for a 5% bonus for providers who commit to value-based payment systems such as the PCMH.

In addition, NCQA has announced that a new 2014 version of the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program will launch on March 24, 2014. The new program is designed to align more closely with Meaningful Use Stage 2, emphasize team-based care, align quality improvement activities with the “triple aim,” and put a care management focus on high need populations.
